For about two years now I’ve been shooting street photography. I walked hours after hours and miles after miles to find a decisive moment, an interesting spot, a story to tell – the hardest and the best part of the game at the same time. I bought a new camera, took part in workshops and photo walks to improve my skills. I left my comfort zone and approached people. I also put a lot attention to the technical aspects of photography like composition, ISO, aperture etc. and did a lot of post processing.

I had a few „keepers“, showed them in my social media accounts and on my website, just for fun. But the perception and response of the crowd is mostly low compared to others. That’s okay for me: About 1.000 views and 30–50 likes for a single street picture are much more than I could reach in real life.

This week I took the bun on flickr: 12.000 views, 250 likes and an appearance in the „explore-section“ – for a blurry and noisy snapshot (see picture above), taken with my smartphone, incredible.

And now? I wanted to know how does it feel to be explored on flickr. I can say now it’s like the feedback I mostly get there: It’s „nice“, but nothing more than petting the ego. I will go on walking hours after hours and miles after miles to find a decisive moment, an interesting spot, a story to tell – the hardest and the best part of the game at the same time.
